Change in PAN Card Rules from April 1st

Important information for those planning to apply for a new PAN Card!

Starting April 1, 2026, the Income Tax Department is introducing significant changes to the PAN card application process.

What is the Change?

Until now, an Aadhaar Card was sufficient as proof of Date of Birth (DOB). However, under the new regulations, Aadhaar alone will no longer be enough. Applicants will now be required to submit an additional document to verify their date of birth.

Required Additional Documents (Any one of the following):

• Birth Certificate
• Voter ID Card
• 10th Standard Marksheet
• Passport
• Driver's License

To avoid the hassle of arranging additional documents and to ensure a faster process, we recommend applying for your PAN card before the March 31st deadline.
